The University of the Philippines – Diliman is one of the leading universities in the country that provides an excellent education to Filipino students. University of the Philippines – Diliman Scholarship Programs

  1. The Oblation Scholarship

The oblation scholarship is just one of the scholarship programs for all applicants who are qualified to enroll in any undergraduate degree program in the entire UP System. This is an opportunity for the students to study and acquire the quality of education that they deserve to have.

The goal of this scholarship program is to help financially needy students to study at UP provided that they pass all the requirements and they meet the qualification standards set by the scholarship program. The scholars can receive a book allowance amounting to Php 2,250 every semester, free tuition fees, miscellaneous fees, laboratory fees, transportation allowance, and a monthly incentive of Php 3, 000.

This scholarship also carries some basic academic requirements in order to maintain the academic scholarship program until the end of the school year and until they finished their course, this includes the following

  1. Must pass the entire academic subject within the given time period.
  2. No incomplete or failing grades in all course-subject.
  3. Earn at least 2.0 weighted averages.
  • UP Presidential Scholarship

One of the UP scholarship programs is the UP Presidential Scholarship (UPS). It is a scholarship grant that opens for both undergraduate degree programs except for freshman students and graduate degree programs (Masters’s and Doctorate programs. The said continuing scholarship grant is open to all Filipino students that have a general weighted average of at least 1.75. Qualified beneficiaries can receive a monthly stipend of Php 2, 500 and Php 2, 000 per semester for book allowance (this is for undergraduate student scholars); and for graduate degree scholars a minimum amount of Php 2,500 for a monthly stipend will be given to them plus a Php 3, 000 for book allowance every semester, thesis allowance worth Php 5, 000 and a Php 10, 000 in dissertation allowance plus other incentives and privileges given.

  • UP Scholarship Program for Foreign Students

It is a scholarship program given to international students that are enrolled in a graduate or master’s degree program. Qualified foreign students must contain at least 1.75 of the general weighted average and may come from a country with which the Philippines have diplomatic ties. Applicants may receive free school fees, a monthly allowance amounting to Php 2, 500 a Php 3, 000 books allowance every semester, and a Php 5, 000 thesis allowance. 

  • The University of the Philippines Alumni Association (Singapore) Scholarship

The University of the Philippines Alumni Association (Singapore) Scholarship provides a stipend to students who have financial difficulties to sustain their educational needs. This is an initiative of the UP Alumni that are currently based in Singapore to support Filipino students to acquire a quality education under the supervision of the University of thud Philippines (UP). The Office of Scholars and Student Services administers the scholarship on behalf of UPAAS wherein they are in charge of the applicant’s evaluation and screening.

  • UP Diliman Performing Arts Scholarship Program (UPd PASP)

From the title itself, UPD Performing Arts Scholarship Program is a scholarship award given to this undergraduate talented student performers who are official and active members of the Student Performing Arts Group of the said university wherein they are entitled as UPD Performing Arts Scholars but there are conditions that the scholars need to obey because scholarship can be withdrawn if they will fail to do it. This includes its responsibilities to participate in any performing events and competitions that the organization needs to attend including the practice that they do every time they have performing activities. Since you are a scholar, you should balance your studies and time of practice.

  • UP Diliman Visual Arts and Cultural Studies Scholarship Program (UPD VACSSP)

Another stipend will be given to the undergraduate student-artist of the University of the Philippines known as UP Diliman Visual Arts and Cultural Studies Scholarship Program (UPD VACSSP). It is intended for students who have versatile talent in visual arts and cultural criticism wherein the given scholarship is renewable every school year wherein eligible candidates can receive a semestral allowance of Php 10, 000 and a tuition waiver under RA 10931.

University of the Philippines’ Private Scholarships

  1. Commonwealth Foods, Inc. Scholarship

This scholarship is being offered by Commonwealth Food Inc. UP most especially those incoming freshmen students that are currently enrolled in the said university upon application. Qualified recipients of the said scholarship are entitled to receive Php 12, 000-20, 000 per semester.

  • Filipino American Military Medical Officers Society (FAMMOS) Scholarship – System Wide

Another scholarship program administered by the Office of Scholarship and Student Services of the University of the Philippines is the Filipino American Military Medical Officers Society (FAMMOS) Scholarship – System Wide scholarship program that is being offered to all financially incapable students of UP. This scholarship is renewable every year and must pass all subjects once the recipients acquire failing, the scholarship will be automatically terminated.
