Below are the existing scholarship projects from UPLB:
1. Adopt-a-Student Program (AASP)-Sterix Incorporated Gift of HOPE (Holistic Offerings to Promote Excellence) Thesis Grant
The said scholarship program is educational assistance given to the enrolled student of BS Biology or BS Agriculture (Major in Entomology) at the University of the Philippines Los Baños wherein they must provide a thesis outline that has been approved by the seniors if they wish to avail the said grant. This is usually given to financially needy students who have a family income of not more than Php 250,000 every year.
Interested students who wish to apply must also be a senior at the time of application. At the same time, they must have a General Weighted Average (GWA) of 2.5 or above. Students must also ensure that they are not scholarship awardees of other Thesis scholarships or grants.
2. Estores, Tiauzon and Angeles Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship Grant
The Estores, Tiauzon, and Angeles Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship Grant is an educational support given to the enrolled students of the said university who are taking BS in Agriculture Major in Weed Science that has a minimum General Weighted Average (GWA) of 2.50 or above.
Interested student applicants must have a good moral character without having any record of offense or disciplinary action taken since all student applicants are required to pass their certificate of good moral character that will be coming from the Office of the College Secretary. They will be also needed a recommendation from their previous professor, instructors, coordinator, or even their program head. Scholarship beneficiaries are entitled to receive the following benefits include;
- A monthly stipend of Php 3, 500
- Php 1, 000 for clothing allowance every semester
- A Php Php 1,500 every semester for clothing allowance; and
- A Php Php 2,500 for a book or IT allowance every semester
3. Philsan Graduate Thesis Grant (Philsan)
This is a graduate scholarship that is offered to students who are taking their Master’s or Doctorate at UPLB. To apply, they must be officially enrolled students in MS Animal Science Major in Animal Nutrition. Apart from that, they must have a thesis dissertation enrolled subject at the time of scholarship application.
Student applicants who wish to be a scholarship awardee are required to pass their one (1) piece of 2×2 ID colored picture with white background to be attached to the application that can be downloaded using this link https://forms.gle/8cdTS39LzdZ4ePqX8 together with some other documents like a copy or birth certificate, recent Income Tax Return of Parents or Guardian indicated the annual income of both parents, approved thesis outline.
4. Turalba Foundation Scholarship Program
The scholarship program of the Turalba Foundation aims to provide a Php 1,250 monthly stipend to enrolled students that are taking up Engineering and Agro-Industrial Technology courses plus an additional Php 2,000 for thesis allowance every semester intended only for the last course year. Additionally, they shall receive an additional Php 1,000 on their last semester which serves as Graduation Allowance.
The qualified applicants must be 22 years old or older than that and must be enrolling in at least 15 units for the 2nd semester in the specified school year. the requirements needed for the scholarship application include the following;
- Recent parent or guardian’s Income Tax Return (ITR)
- One (1) Recommendation Letter coming from the previous professor or instructor.
- A copy of the birth certificate
- Form 5
- Good Moral Certificate
- Application form
5. Iskolar ng Bayan
Another scholarship program that is being administered by the said university was anchored in the Republic 10648 or otherwise known as the Iskolar ng Bayan Program of 2014 which provides a scholarship program to the high school graduates of all recognized public high schools in the country.
The said scholarship program aims to provide financial support that will be utilized for the educational purposes of Filipino students as it promotes access to higher education for deserving students who are not yet financially ready to support all of their educational expenses.
Eligible applicants must be Filipino citizens that belong to the top ten in the academic ranking of the high school graduating class which is duly recognized by the principal or the authorized school personnel wherein they must need to provide a copy of DepEd Form 138 and a notice of student’s UPG that came from the UP Office of Admission.
6. Student Assistantship and Graduate Assistantship (SAGA) Program
Another educational and skills-related opportunity is being offered to the enrolled students of UPLB who are willing to render work-related services to the said university through the means of community service or course-related work that will benefit both parties, the university and the students. This is also an opportunity for the students to have a glimpse of the practical University work related to study and career interest plus they will be granted financial assistance that will help them to pay their educational expenses as compensation for their hard work and service to the university.
7. Tuition Loan/ Student Loan Board Program
This is an educational loan wherein officially enrolled students of UPLB who financially struggle at the time of enrollment can have their student loan that can have up to 80% of registration payment with an annual interest of 6% that is payable every semester. The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs is the one that administered this kind of educational program that might help students who are struggling to have their educational payment. This is open to all qualified undergraduate and graduate students with no outstanding loans unless there is a promissory note that is being approved by the Chancellor.
8. Cash Loan Assistance Program (CLAP)
The Cash Loan Assistance Program (CLAP) is a UPLB student-free interest loan that is specially designed for the enrolled student of the said university that is in the 3rd, 4th, or 5th of the following program in BS in Agriculture, Food Technology, Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Math and Science Technology, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Agricultural Biosystem Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Agri-Business Management, Agricultural Economics, Forestry, Nutrition, Doctor Of Veterinary Medicine And Agricultural Chemistry.
The said student loan assistance program is categorized into long and short terms, in which the long-term CLAP provides Php 8,000 of financial assistance that is payable in two (2) –five (5) years after the student’s graduation while the short-term CLAP provides maximum financial assistance of Php 5,000 that will depend on the student’s course an academic standing.
