What is the Silliman University?

Silliman University is a private university that enables students to become excellent in their chosen field of interest that is profitably useful towards their personal and professional development. Luckily, the said university offers various scholarship program that enables to help these young minds to finish their studies.

As part of the university’s mission, Silliman University offers various scholarship programs that are tailored according to the needs of the students. A. Silliman University Scholarship Program Scholarship Program for Junior High School Students

1. Mariano and Lina Lao Scholarship Grant

This scholarship grant is being offered to the incoming Grade seven (7) student who wished to study at Silliman University-Dumaguete that is academically deserving yet financially needy because lack of financial capacity to sustain their educational needs. The said scholarship grant covers tuition fees, miscellaneous fees, and other school fees that can help students for the easiness of their financial load.

2. Junior High School Entrance Honor Scholarship

Junior High School Entrance Honor Scholarship is an educational privilege that aims to help the top 2 performing students of their batch to study at Silliman University by extending an educational bridge the means of scholarship support to the incoming Grade 7 students of Silliman University. Qualified scholars must be incoming Grade 7 students and the Top 2 students of their graduating class.

3. Silliman Alumni International Chicago Chapter Inc.

This is a scholarship opportunity designed to primarily help underprivileged students that are not lucky enough in terms of financial resources but deserve to acquire educational scholarships because of their good academic standing. The minimum qualifications of the eligible scholars must be a grade of 88% general weighted average (GWA) that has not been graded below 85%.

C. Special Scholarship at Silliman University

SUACONA Environmental Funds Scholarships and Funds

Silliman University Alumni and Council of North America or otherwise known as SUACONA is a financial opportunity given to graduate students, faculty, and research partners who are willing to pursue research studies concerning environmental studies and conservation sustainability wherein it covers the thesis dissertation fees depending upon the priority of the grant. Qualified applicants are entitled to receive financial privileges like dissertation fees, travel allowance, and research incentives depending upon the performance of the researcher.

D. Academic Honor Scholarship

This academic honor scholarship is an educational grant given to the senior high school or continuing Grade 11 students and college students of Silliman University wherein specific privileges are given to them.

1. Academic Honor Scholarship for Continuing Senior High School Students

This is an academic honor scholarship given to the senior high school or Grade 11 student who graduated with a good academic award specifically to those students who are graduated with honors and part of the top 4 honor student of their graduating class.

2. Academic Honor Scholarship for Continuing College Students

It is an academic scholarship grant given to the continuing college students of Silliman University wherein qualified applicants must have a good academic standing or have a general weighted average of 3.50 and must not have grades below 2.0 or incomplete, failing or no grades in which they belong to considerable Class A applicants and he or she belongs to Class B if he or she must have a quality point average of 3.25 to 3.49.

Important Notes:

  1. Silliman University will start its application process for the school year 2022-2023 on June 1, 2022, and it will close on June 24, 2023, with no extension and consideration because of the scholarship demand to the deserving students of the said university and for those applicants who have incomplete documents, it is advised that applicant need to complete his or her documents because applicants with complete documents will be processed.
  2. After various verification procedures for the validation of the application and documents, interviews with the qualified applicants will be open and will start on July 4-5.
  3. It will be followed by face-to-face testing in identified testing sites that will be done on July 6-7.
  4. After that, processing of the applications of the qualified applicants will be open to the eligible applicants on July 9-12 upon verification the announcement of the qualified applicants will be taken into place.
