Saint Louis University (SLU) in the Philippines was founded in 1911 by the CICM missionaries and later, under the presidency of Diosdado Macapagal. It was recognized by the Philippine government officially as a university on May 13, 1963. It is in the same year that the said university officially became the first private university in the northern region of Manila.
Moreover, Saint Louis University is a private Catholic institution that offers both basic and higher education. It is located in Baguio City, Philippines and has four campuses spread all over the vicinity of Baguio City. Its main campus is located in A. Bonifacio St., Brgy. List of Scholarship Programs at Saint Louis University
1. SLU SHMC Special Scholarship Program
The SLU SHMC Special Scholarship Program is a scholarship grant given to the incoming third-year or fourth-year student enrolled in the university’s School of Nursing. To qualify, they must be willing to render a service of contract which they will sign after passing the licensure examination for nursing at the Sacred Heart Medical Center for at least one year, which is equivalent to every year of sponsorship of the scholarship program.
Since this scholarship program is being sponsored by Sacred Heart Medical Center, grantees of the said scholarship are required to render a return service after they passed the licensure examination. Qualified scholars must:
- be in good health both physically and mentally
- be Filipino citizens with good moral character
- not have any failing grades in their 1st and 2nd year in nursing
- meet the minimum general weighted average of 85% in the semester upon application
2. Saranay Ti Alumni Scholarship Program
The said scholarship program is intended to offer to the student of Saint Louis University taking up a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education or Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education. Qualified scholarship applicants must be second-year students taking up the courses mentioned above. Applicants must also be from an underprivileged Filipino family with good health and good moral character.
Interested applicants must not have any other scholarship grants or any failed, incomplete, or dropped subject that will lead to disqualification from the scholarship program. The following is the list of the required electronic documents needed for the scholarship application:
- Duly accomplished scholarship application form with a 2×2 clear ID Picture which will be sent to the gcdir@slu.edu.ph
- A certified true copy of the report card from the previous semester in SLU
- A true copy of the birth certificate or NSO
- Health certificate indicating that the applicants must be in good health duly signed and approved by the attending physician
- Good moral certificate coming from the Office of Student Affairs and Services
3. Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation Inc. Scholarship Program
This is a scholarship program sponsored by the Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation Inc. that enables students of the university who are taking Bachelor of Science in Accountancy in any year level to receive Php 10,000 per semester until they will graduate in their chosen course, provided that they will provide all the scholarship requirements including the scholarship qualification requirements.
The criteria for selecting the qualified scholarship beneficiaries must include the following:
- a general weighted average of 85% without any failing grades
- must be of a good moral character without having any record of disciplinary action
- an annual family income of both parents must not exceed Php 500,000 every year.

Additionally, the following required documents must be submitted together with the application form:
- Form 138 (for incoming first-year applicants)
- Copy of grades
- Registration form or enrollment form
- Certificate of good moral character issued by the Office of student affairs (for 2nd year-4th year students)
- Certificate of good moral character issued by the previous school which he or she last attended (for first-year student applicants)
- Income Tax Return of all working family members
Note: The Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation Inc. will be the one that will select the qualified applicants and shall create the final decision.
4. Nelle Kellogg Scholarship Program
This scholarship program is given to the underprivileged yet qualified students of SLU who deserve to receive a scholarship award, specifically, those incoming first-year students taking up medicine courses in the university.
Interested applicants must:
- not have any failing grades
- have a minimum grade of 85%
- not have enjoyed any other scholarship grants
- be in good health and have a good moral character
- be willing to undergo Community Immersion Program during their short-term program in 2nd-year medical school
5. PHINMA Foundation Inc.
The said scholarship program offers an annual allowance of Php 40,000 to those underprivileged enrolled students of the said university who came from a family that has a combined annual family income of not more than Php 450,000 every year. Aside from that, students must have a general weighted average of 85% during the last two semesters upon application without any failing grades and dropping out of subjects.
Eligible student applicants must be a 3rd and 4th year engineering students in electronic engineering, electrical engineering, geodetic engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronic engineering, civil engineering, and mining engineering.
6. Rosalina A. Mateo Academic Assistance Program (RAMAAP)
The said scholarship program covers a tuition fee for the following courses:
- accountancy
- management
- computing and information studies
- engineering
- architecture
- teacher education
- liberal arts
- natural sciences
Qualified student applicants must:
- be a second-year college student that came from an underprivileged family
- not enjoy any scholarship grant
- not have dropped and failing grades in any subject including the NSTP and PE
- must have good moral character
