List of Scholarship Programs at Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology
1. Academic Scholarships
Academic scholarship is awarded to students who have demonstrated a high degree of scholastic performance. This is given to students to aid their financial problems and to further widen their opportunity to choose and enjoy a career that they want to pursue.
2. Mindanao State University System Admission and Scholarship Examination (MSU-SASE Top 20)
The Mindanao State University System Admission and Scholarship Examination or MSU-SASE is an exam conducted to determine the Top Examinees that will qualify for Mindanao State University scholarship programs. Among all examinees of the said exam, the school will choose the Top 20 students who will receive the privileges given under the scholarship program.
The following Top 20 students will receive different privileges based on the score they obtained in MSU-SASE. The examinees who garner a score of 150-156 will receive the Rizal’s Excellence Award with a monthly stipend worth 2,000 pesos but to maintain the scholarship program the grantee/s must have a Grade Point Average of 1.00-1.20.
Another scholarship known as Chancellor’s Award is given to students who top the exam with a score of 143-149. The grantee of the Chancellor Award will receive a monthly stipend worth 1,300. To maintain the scholarship program the grantee/s must have the maintaining Grade Point Average of 1.21-1.44. On the other hand, those students who scored 136-142 will receive the Dean’s Award and will receive a monthly stipend worth 500 pesos given that, the student must have a maintaining Grade Point Average of 1.45-1.75.
3. Dean’s Lister (for COE, CSM, SCS, and CASS AB English & BS Psych Students)
This scholarship program is offered to those students who become a Dean’s Lister for the courses COE, CSM, SCS, and CASS AB English & BS Psychology. Free tuition and other fees will be given to students who obtained a grade point average of 1.75-1.50. On the other hand, students who obtained a grade point average of 1.00-1.49 will receive free tuition and other fees plus a monthly stipend worth 1,200 pesos.
4. Valedictorians / Salutatorians
Luckily, students who are Valedictorians and Salutatorians during high school will also receive a scholarship program with a free tuition fee but that only applies during the first semester of his/her admission.
5. Financial Assistantships / Student Assistantship / Office Assistantship
This is awarded to deserving undergraduate students who are financially unstable. The grantee/s must work as a student assistant and will be compensated at the rate of 10 pesos per hour. On the other hand, students who work as office assistants will be compensated at the rate of 15 pesos per hour. The scholarship grant is renewable on a semestral basis.
Note: The compensation is good for a maximum of 100 hours per month.
6. Special Scholarships
The special scholarship is being offered to students who are members of the Kalimulan Cultural Dance Troupe, Band (Echoes), Integrated Performing Arts Guild (IPAG), Octava Choral Society, and Varsity team (Sports). The members of the following organizations/group will receive free tuition and other fees except for student government and student publication fees. They will receive free book rentals and a monthly allowance worth 300 pesos.
7. External Scholarships / Privately Funded Scholarships
Mindanao State University allows students to have privately founded scholarships that can give financial assistance. Privately Funded Scholarships are scholarship programs that are offered by non-profit organizations, government agencies, and other foundations.
The following are the Privately Funded Scholarship Programs that are allowed at Mindanao State University:
- PhilDev Foundation
Philippine Development Foundation or PhilDev Foundation is a non-profit organization that gives educational assistance to students. PhilDev grantees will receive free school fees and other fees with a monthly allowance worth 5,500. The student will also receive 4000 pesos worth of book allowance per semester.
- HOLCIM
Holcim Philippines is a cement maker company that is committed to helping poor students to poor but deserving students pursue its chosen course. Under the FACE program, Holcim Philippines provides school supplies and meal subsidies to students. Free tuition and other school fees are also included in the privileges that the student could receive.
- JCreations Digital Printing Station Scholarship Program
This scholarship program is being offered to BSIT/BSCS graduating students. The grantee/s will receive a semestral allowance worth 4,000 pesos.
- LEXMARK Research and Development Corp.
Students who are qualified in this scholarship program will receive school fees and a book allowance worth 6,000 pesos per year. A living allowance of 3,000 pesos per month, a transportation allowance of 4,000 per year, a clothing allowance of 500 pesos per semester, and a special project allowance to senior students worth 5,000 pesos.
- METROBANK Scholarship Program (ACCESS)
This scholarship program founded by Metro Bank Foundation aims to provide financial assistance to underprivileged students who wish to study college. The Metro Bank foundation gives a 100% subsidy (full tuition and other fees) and a semestral allowance worth 5,000 to cover other school-related expenses.
- Association of IIT Alumni Foundation, Inc. (AIITAFI)
This scholarship program was founded by the Association of IIT Alumni Foundation Inc. the scholars of this program are being selected based on the given criterion. One of the criteria is that the student must be the poorest of the poor with a general point average of 2.0 and above. The grantee/s will receive a monthly stipend worth 500 pesos.
- New Horizon Travel and Tours Scholarship Program
New Horizon Travel and Tours Scholarship Program is only being offered to graduating students of BSBA Entrepreneurial Marketing. The grantee/s will receive a semestral allowance worth 4,000 pesos.
- PHINMA Foundation Scholarship Program
This scholarship foundation aims to help Filipino students to gain access to quality education. The grantee/s of this scholarship program will be given 5,000 pesos grant per semester.
- PILMICO Foods Corporation
Scholars shall receive a grant not exceeding the amount of P3,760, a uniform allowance for ROTC in the amount of P1,500, an allowance for Registration/Miscellaneous Expenses of P500 (library fee, athletic fee, school publication fee, dental/medical, guidance, and ID Card, and Tuition Fee (21 units x Php 100/unit), Books P1,000, school supplies, P500, Laboratory fee P200 pesos.
- PSME-ILIGAN BAY CHAPTER
The scholars of this scholarship program will receive a monthly stipend of P400 and a book allowance of PHP 500/sem. Tuition and other school fees.
- Government-Funded Scholarships
- Department of Science and Technology (DOST)
DOST scholarship is one of the most prestigious scholarships in the country. The scholars of the said program will receive tuition and other school fees not to exceed P3,500/sem; an allowance for textbooks and essential school supplies worth 500 pesos per semester.
The students will also receive a grant for Military and Physical Education uniforms worth 500 pesos. They will also receive free transportation and monthly living allowance for a 10-month duration of 1,500 pesos/700 pesos/500 pesos, partial & special grants depending on the scholarship award category.
- Senator Kiko Pangilinan Scholarship
Senator Kiko Pangilinan Scholarship program was established by Senator Kiko Pangilinan himself. This aims to fund tertiary education of economically- disadvantaged but deserving students.
- Mayor’s Scholarship Program
Mayor’s Scholarship program is a local scholarship grant from the office of the mayor that beneficiaries a P3,500 allowance per semester.
- Barangay Officials’ Tuition Privilege
Barangay Official Tuition privileges are given to students with financial needs. The grantee/s will receive free tuition.
- Commission on Higher Education (CHED)
The CHED scholarship program offers scholarships to help students pay for college. The grantee of the scholarship program will receive free tuition as well as a stipend and book allowance worth 40,000 per semester.
- Overseas Workers Welfare Administration
Grantees of this program will receive a 30,000 pesos stipend per semester.
- DND-CHED-PASUC Scholarship Program
Grantee/s of this program will receive tuition and other matriculation fees.
