Filipino students chasing a healthcare career now have a fresh opening. The Mercury Drug Foundation, Inc. (MDFI), a non-profit organization founded in 1983, has opened its scholarship program for Academic Year 2026–2027.
The program runs on two tracks. One supports pharmacy students in their final two years of study. The other is reserved for Gawad Talino awardees entering college as freshmen at state universities. Both aim to help capable students who need financial backing to finish their degrees.

Qualifications
The scholarship is intended for pharmacy students who are experiencing financial challenges and meet the following requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a pharmacy program and experiencing financial need
- In the last two years of their pharmacy studies at a pharmacy school partnered with MDFI
- Has a General Weighted Average (GWA) of at least 2.5 or 80%
- Single and not more than 23 years old
- Physically healthy and of good moral character
- Not currently receiving another scholarship or form of educational financial assistance
- Not a dependent of an employee of Mercury Drug Corporation, Mercury Group of Companies, or any of their subsidiaries
For Gawad Talino Awardees
Applicants under this category must meet the following qualifications:
- Must be a Gawad Talino Award recipient of the Mercury Drug Foundation, Inc. (MDFI)
- Must be an incoming first-year college student enrolled in a state university or other government-funded higher education institution
- Must pursue an eligible degree program, including Accountancy/Financial Management, Architecture, Business Administration, Engineering (Civil, Computer, Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical), Information Technology, Mathematics, Pharmacy, or Psychology
- Must be single and 21 years old or younger
- Must be in good health and demonstrate good moral character
- Must not be receiving another scholarship or educational financial assistance
- Must not be a dependent of an employee of Mercury Drug Corporation, Mercury Group of Companies, or any of its subsidiaries
- Must maintain a General Weighted Average (GWA) of at least 2.0 or 85%

How to Apply
Applicants may follow these steps when applying for the scholarship:
Step 1: Complete the Requirements
Gather and prepare all the documents and information required for your scholarship application.
Step 2: Submit Through Your School
Submit your application to the dean or department head of your pharmacy school. Applications may also be submitted through the department heads of MDFI’s partner colleges of pharmacy. The school will conduct the initial assessment and endorse qualified applicants to MDFI.
Step 3: Undergo Initial Screening
The submitted applications will be reviewed and screened by the designated representatives of the participating school.
Step 4: Endorsement to MDFI
Applicants who pass the initial screening will have their applications forwarded to the Mercury Drug Foundation, Inc. (MDFI) for further evaluation.
Step 5: Final Evaluation and Selection
MDFI will conduct the final screening and selection of scholarship recipients for the program.
Step 6: Wait for the Result
Applicants who are selected as scholars will be notified through the appropriate school or designated personnel.

There is no online form to download. You get the application form directly from your Pharmacy School Dean or Department Head, who also guides you through evaluation and endorsement. Reach out to them early so you have enough time to prepare.
