List of Scholarship Programs at Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan
A. President’s Scholarship
Students who were on the list of Top 1 to 15 in the online scholarship examination administered to them shall have 100% or full school fees with a coverage of up to PHP 10,000 reimbursement intended for books, their uniform, and ICT-related expenses.
B. Merit Scholarship
For the Merit Scholarship, students in the Top 16 to 30 are entitled to enjoy and receive 100% coverage for their school fees.
C. Academic Scholarships
The Academic Scholarships are scholarship programs being awarded each year or per semester to incoming freshmen students and upperclassmen of Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan for their superior academic performance for the year or semester. Additionally, students who could meet the said requirements for the said program shall be requested to submit the documentary requirements as well as go through an interview with the Scholarship Committee and the OSFA Director of the said institution.
This scholarship grant is recurring as long as the students shall be able to maintain the requirements every year or semester, particularly grade compliance and the other requirements set by the said scholarship program. Additionally, the said academic scholarships may be funded by the University or by the government and private donors.
D. St. Ignatius of Loyola Scholarship
The St. Ignatius of Loyola Scholarship, this scholarship program is exclusively awarded or granted to students who were Top 1 and Top 2 of their entire Senior High School graduating class having at least 90 students in their batch. Scholars of St. Ignatius of Loyola Scholarship shall receive full tuition as well as matriculation coverage.
E. St. Francis Xavier Scholarship
Meanwhile, the St. Francis Xavier Scholarship, or grant-in-aid program, this program is intended for students who go at least 87 scores in the Online Scholarship Examination and whose family annual income does not exceed PHP 500,000 (family of five).
For application, students must:
- Provide a certified true copy of their parents or guardians’ latest income tax return (ITR) or
- A notarized affidavit bearing the sources of their income and the indicated amount.
Note: Applications for the said program come on a “first come, first serve” basis. Hence, if you wish to avail the privileges of the said program, you must submit your applications before the set deadline for applications since the slots are only limited to the first 70 students of Xavier University.
F. Grants-in-Aid (G-i-A)
Meanwhile, Grants-in-Aid programs are different from academic scholarships. These programs reflect the intention, desire, and values of the university to witness justice as well as to serve and help the poor. The Grants-in-Aid programs are primarily focused to provide financial support to students who were assessed based on the financial capability of their respective families.
The grant is renewable every semester and is based on the following:
