Palawan Group of Companies (PGC), the Puerto Princesa-born firm behind Palawan Pawnshop and Palawan Express Pera Padala, is accepting online applications for its PGC Scholar program. The program is open to incoming first-year college students from Palawan who have strong grades but limited family income.
Grantees must enroll at one of two priority schools: Palawan State University (Main Campus) or Western Philippines University (Main and PPC Campus).
For many families in the province, the program could mean the difference between putting college on hold and starting it on time.

Document Requirements
Applicants should prepare scanned copies of the following before opening the form:
- Recent 2×2 ID photo
- Senior high school report card (front and back on one page)
- Certificate of Good Moral Character
- Barangay Certificate of Indigency and Residency
- House photo showing front and inside views in one collage
- Facebook profile link
- Monthly income details of father, mother, or legal guardian
- Two character references who are not related to the applicant
Incomplete submissions will not be processed. Label each file with your last name, first name, and document type (for example, DelaCruz_Juan_Card).
Qualifications
The program is open to incoming college freshmen aged 16 to 21 with a Grade 12 general weighted average of 90% or higher. Applicants must be Palawan residents, and priority goes to students from indigent or low-income households.
Candidates must show good moral character, be in good health, and have no criminal record. They must also pass an initial interview with the Scholarship Program Management. Students who already hold another scholarship or grant are not eligible, although school-granted academic honors scholarships are allowed. Relatives of PGC associates, up to the third degree, are also excluded.
